Using a two-way communication system of telephone conversations between the home viewing audience and studio guests, viewers participated in debating the question, “Is Black Better or White Brighter?” Dr. Shockley, a white man who believes blacks are genetically inferior, clashed with Dr. Welsing, a black woman who believes whites are genetically inferior.
