Description: TV performance, as originally aired 9/22/58. WITH : ART CARNEY, ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY , FRED GWYNNE , CHARLOTTE RAE WRITTEN BY MSRY CHASE DIRECTED BY GEORGE SCHAEFER Synopsis: The classic stage hit gets the primetime treatment in the story of Elwood P. Dowd, an endlessly pleasant and delightfully eccentric bachelor living in a small town that isn't aware that its newest citizen is a invisible, 6'3 white rabbit named “Harvey” that only he sees (and a few privileged others on occasion also). After his sister tries to commit him to a mental institution, a comedy of errors ensures. Elwood and Harvey become the catalysts for a family mending its wounds and for romance blossoming in unexpected places.
