HEAD-ON COLLISION AT BRIGHTON BEACH RACE TRACK JULY 4TH, 1906, MILES BROTHERS.
THE SUBJECT IS A MAN-MADE COLLISION BETWEEN TWO STEAM LOCOMOTIVES. THE TRACKS WERE LAID ACROSS THE BACK FIELDS AT AN AMUSEMENT PARK. THE FILM WAS PHOTOGRAPHED WITH TWO CAMERAS, AND MOST OF IT SHOWS THE SURROUNDING COUNTRYSIDE, THE BLEACHERS AND GRANDSTAND, AMUSEMENT RIDES, ETC. FROM A DISTANCE OF APPROXIMATELY HALF A MILE, ONE OF THE TWO CAMERAS FILMED THE FULL RUN OF THE TWO TRAINS BEFORE THEY COLLIDED. BRIGHTON BEACH, NEW YORK. |

THE INDIAN, KLAW & ERLANGER (1914)
THIS THREE-REEL FILM STARTS WITH A BATTLE OF A TRIBE OF INDIANS AND THE CAVALRY IN WHICH TWIN SONS OF THE INDIAN CHIEF BECOME SEPARATED. ONE OF THE SONS IS RAISED AS A WHITE MAN AND BECOMES AN AMERICAN SOLDIER, WHILE THE OTHER GROWS UP WITH HIS FATHER. CONFLICT ARISES WHEN DISHONEST INDIAN AGENTS SELL SUPPLIES INTENDED FOR THE INDIANS. ONE OF THE AGENTS THEN KIDNAPS THE DAUGHTER OF THE AMERICAN GENERAL WHO RAISED ONE OF THE TWIN INDIANS. SHE IS RESCUED BY TROOPS LED BY THE AMERICANIZED TWIN AND SUPPORTED BY THE INDIANS THEMSELVES. HOWEVER, THE OTHER TWIN IS KILLED DURING THE SKIRMISH. THERE ARE AT LEAST THREE COMPANIES OF CAVALRY IN THE PICTURE, AND APPROXIMATELY TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY ADULT INDIANS AND AN INDIAN VILLAGE. |
