Yeah, actually we like dogs and puppies and whenever we hear, whenever we go into a store it is like, whooo, can we buy a puppy? Because we bought magic as a dog and we want her to have a dog friend. Her only friends are us and we don’t know how to speak dog. (talks) uh, kinda |

How nice they are because I like really nice dogs because every time we come home she tries to jump up and give us a hug but my mom don’t like it and she tries to climb up on us and my mom and dad don’t like that so every time I come she is so excited. |

No, because dogs chase cats. (talks) Sometimes because on this movie called Ummm…I forgot but it was a really good movie, it was called Otis and something. (talks) Yeah, and they got along and I got that movie I think for Christmas. |

Year of the Dog Premiere – Sound bite: Shondrella Avery – On being a fish person
I’ll take it because I’ve got a little bit of slanted eyes. People think I have a little bit of Asian in me. No, actually, I must say I’m a fish person because they are easy to clean up after. I mean cats, they need a lot of attention, a lot of love. I don’t have any children yet. So I go for the fish thing. I have a great pond with the coy fish so I like fish, but I could be a dog today. I think I could be a dog today. |

Confidence, I think loyality, the ability to listen to you when the woman won’t listen to you. Because you said a man’s best friend so I’m thinking literally a man. Very very true. I just think of loyality. Your dog will be there to protect you. Protection. But sometimes people have a little bitty dog and I don’t quite know what their protection deal is. I mean I’m six feet, I’m rockin, I would have to have a dog right up to here to make me feel like I’m scared of it but I think it is just an old cliché, protection. From what I’ve known. I think Mark Wahlberg had a dog in Shooter and that dog was pretty intense and if you haven’t seen that movie I think you should. It’s a good movie, a good movie…. |

Well I love dogs and I figured that since I am a first time director I might as well make a movie with twenty dogs in it, just stack the deck against success. (Talks) It is like if I can handle fifteen dogs, I can handle anything. |

Year of the Dog Premiere – Sound bite: Mike White
I think people who have pets are going to relate to the movie because dogs, they don’t talk back to you. You don’t have bargain with them. They are just a pure source of affection and love. So every body loves a dog. |

Year of the Dog Premiere – Sound bite: Mike White
What was weird was that the dogs, if anything were over trained. They, like sometimes I was like just let the dogs go crazy and I’ll just shoot my master and let’s just let them go and I would stand back there and the dogs would just sit there. It is like, this is not going to sell so we actually had to teach the dogs new tricks which was just being dogs. |

Year of the Dog Premiere – Sound bite: Mike White – On his dogs
I have two dogs, I have two French bulldogs and they are little bitches, excuse me, in the dog way of being a bitch. (talks) Yeah, I have a dog, Ginger, who likes to pee on my bed when I come back from out of town which is a sweet gift to come back to. Yeah, she tries to boss me around. She is the boss of the house. |

I think Dogs don’t have an agenda. I think they are really with you. I think they have an agenda when they want food, but after they are satiated and they want to connect. And they are man’s best friend. You know they just really are there for you and they listen and they are great partners. (talks) I do, I have a Jack Russell named June who is 112 in Dog years. |

Year of the Dog Premiere – Sound bite: Molly Shannon
I guess because they are loyal, they can’t cause any complications, they don’t speak up so it is a nice simple relationship and they are loyal. If you take care of them they will be loyal. (talks) I am a dog person but when I was about 12 or 13 I developed an allergy so we had to get rid of them. I have little kids now and they really want to get a dog so maybe we will get one. |

Um…a dog do something human…um…lemme see….we had a dog growing up that could eat potato chips. It looked kind of human, it could sit up and eat potato chips. Nothing more than that. Actually the owner of the dog would lift his teeth out and give him chips. Actually it wasn’t very normal looking, it looked kind of forced but it wasn’t so good, but we thought it was funny though because the dog would go rrrrrggghhh. You could tell the dog was mad and she would shove potato chips in his mouth. She was usually kind of drunk. It wasn’t very good. Not a good story. |

It is more about educating the public. Letting people know how a dog can change everybody’s life. And having a dog, which is what the movie is about. How can actually show how much love we have for other creatures. And this creature can come to a life and change a life, become a better person. |
