Well mainly the director, Ken Kwapis, this is our fourth film working together, and so, um, he called me up and said, would you be interested in this movie, and I always love working with him, that was the initial part of it and then getting into writing the score of course becomes the rewarding part the hard work and the part of you get the pay off, once you get the themes come to you, once you feel something is coming to you, to lift the movie up and your doing something, you feel like your getting that little chill on the back and you kind of say, ok I’m going with this, so of course there’s the step one, get the job, know the person you’re working with, and then start coming up with material that you like.

Greg: We wrote a second book it’s called The Breakup because it’s broken, we are on 3rd book, which is about dating and yeah I’ve got a comedy DVD coming out this spring called “Greg Behrendt is that guy from that thing”.

Oh my, I was the dump, I was the guy getting dumped, I don’t think I ever, actually there was one, she was crazy, she kind of dumped herself, she was nuts, (he laughs), I mean all of sudden it was like, she was absolutely insane, when your girl starts swinging at you, I think it’s automatically over, you know what I mean, so that was the only one I remember, I basically went I had that crazy girl, then I found my wife, after that, I’ve been married 20 years, I didn’t have a lot of single time.

Drew, you know I love Drew and I’ve always wanted to work with her, I get the opportunity to work with her in this movie and she’s the boss and she made it happen.

I love the idea of a picture with nine leading characters everyone of whom I can identify with male or female, I feel like with each of these nine characters I’ve been there done that, made mistakes, but my foot in my mouth, or wanted to do this or that, so I felt really confident, when I started the picture, that I could create something with each of these nine characters would be compelling to an audience and I hope that people will come away feeling like a little bit of themselves in all of them.

It was pretty heady, it was a pretty heady experience let me tell you, and there all incredibly talented actors, who all of them have different working styles, for me it was a wonderful challenge to make all these different energies coherent to one thing.

Well, um, well I read the script and I had no choice but to fight for it tooth and nail, there nothing like this script, it’s a special movie, I’ve humialte myself everyday, and I’ve been given bad dating advice for the past what, I’ve probably been dating for the last 15 years or so, and I’ve been misguided, and I feel that it’s been no fault of my own, I feel as if, I’m just following the guidance that society has dole out so.
