Debra – Well If that’s true then that’s fantastic
Jada - yeah I definitely think that was Diane’s intention to have characters that she could develop that could lighten up the film wherever, so. (talks)
Debra – because uh it’s a classic film, its historical its being remade, modernized, being able to be in a film with so many spectacular woman who I’ve been fans of who’d and I’d actually get in a sand box and play with them
Jada - Right
Debra – I mean I can go on and on and on but uhm you know, I knew getting into this that was going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity (talks)
Jada – Yeah that was definitely part of it and just the idea of being able to star in a movie with all woman during a time in Hollywood where there no studios are committing to uh you know uh developing movies for movies to start in and it took Diane thirteen years to do it and it was a, she’s a you know first time director and I was just like I’m on board. I’m on board.

Jada – Yeah I think you know its it’s, I looked at it as being part of my responsibility as an artist you know to to participate and lend whatever Diane felt I had to offer, her project you know what I meant o make this statement with erh you know and also to be you know I just love Diane also so to be the paint on her canvas as well was really exciting for me.

Debra – it was completely different, not having any testosterone to respond to you know in anyway you know there was a sort of I hate to say this but a peaceful you know nurturing sort of intimate uh environment., and I think that we
Jada – intimacy is the key.
Debra – I think that we got to know each other much more intimately then we ever would have this not been an all woman cast.

Jada – I didn’t picture Clive (talks)
Debra – Maybe that’s who she wanted it to be in the remake if you see him uhm
Jada – oh yeah Eva would do that because that’s her man
Debra – yeah she was the mistress
Jada - her man in the movie yeah cause I surely did not think of Clive Owen.
Debra – No notuh that’s not where my head went either.

Sound Bite: Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith
Jada – I think you know the idea that you know any relationship that you’re involved in it takes commitment and forgiveness that portrayal comes in all different forms you know what I mean that life is about forgiveness and that you need your friends, you need people to share life with and then you make the decision yourself on you know who you decide to continue life with you know at the end of the movie Meg has a decision that she has to make about her marriage she makes a decision you know about some of her friendships and that’s what lifes about you know, you know that’s what relationships are about. So that’s, that you know just to be able to look at all the relationships in your life and just make sure you’re doing your part and you are surrounding yourself around people who can love you and you can accept and love them in return so.
