Yeah it is hard to find movies like this I mean you know certainly to find a compelling character and a moving story line that moves people emotionally is the first priority to work with good people and try to make a good movie but the added bonus of this film Blood Diamond is that it has a social message to it that you know does say something about the world we live in and you know us as consumers and how every time we buy something were essentially endorsing how that company does business and that’s certainly been the case in the Diamond business you know,.

Well the accent was completely alien to me, the South African accent and you know I’d never really spent that much time in Africa nor knew that much about conflict diamonds nor knew much about the the wars that went on in South Africa and these mercenaries and so I wanted to really kind of immerse myself in Africa and get some of these ex-mercenaries really drunk and let them tell there stories and get emotional about it because there’s only certain things you can learn from reading material, you have to ask some penetrating questions about there there feelings towards the place that they live in. (not) it’s necessarily dangerous for them to speak but I think there so scared and wound, you know wounded from some of the atrocity’s that they’ve seen and some of the things that they’ve been a part of and they have such mixed emotions about the wars that went on there that yeah let’s just say that most of the South African guys that I talked to were very rough around the edges and very hardcore and very Alfa male so to get them to admit any kind of sensitive emotion or story was a little bit trying at times.
