Disco Sally
Well, I'll tell ya seeing as how I'm a little on the old side, the romantic end of it, for me is very good. Because all the young boys and the young girls if I were a lesbian would be very nice. Even the young girls love me and something I know i want to try but it doesn't appeal to me. You know?

Interviewer
You think it's a little late?
03:23:59 111.82 thumbnail
Speaker 1 Disco Sally
Because it's like a dance like you choreographed a movement. Even if they make believe that they are fucking practical. But it doesn't even seem like it it's it's different. It's a danger too pornographic in a sense

No, they tell me it's an inspiration. They are now not afraid of getting old .If you do itright, you don't sit in a rocker and wait for the Grim Reaper, right? It doesn't appeal to me. It's got to appeal to me. I get along well with kids. I mean, even from infancy I tell them dirty jokes. They love dirty jokes.

Interviewer
Sally, I understand that you two are gonna get married here in the near future.

Speaker 1 Disco Sally
Well sometimes we decide yes. And then we say to ourselves, at least I do what's morals. I love him like he's my grandson. So you know? So does one marry a grandson? I mean, that's a question. However, we may still do it.

I'm a fashion designer and also makeup artist.

You design the costume you're wearing?

Speaker 3
No this costume was designed by Larry Legaspi. And he's a very avant garde, futuristic designer. And I admire him very much. His work is very, very, very beautiful.

Interviewer
Do you think disco is setting the trends in fashion today?

Speaker 3
Somewhat? I think people send the trend in fashion. Not disco per se. But I guess it has a great influence on it. Definitely.

Interviewer
Do you think it's more provocative more sexual than the dress for today as it was in the past?

Speaker 3
Oh, definitely so. I think night definitely brings that sexualess in people.

Interviewer
Do you think Studio 54 is a sexual place?

Speaker 3
I think so very much. It's very hard to find any other place like it. And I've been to many places Hong Kong and Japan. And it's still not the same. It's very they try to make it like Studio. Let's just put it that way.
03:30:41 513.74 thumbnail
Interviewer
Why do you come to Studio?

Speaker 3
Why? Well, I love dancing. I love the nightlife. It's something very in me ever since I was very, very small. I always thought it was a great thing. It's very enchanting.

Speaker 2 Interviewer
You think the dancing and huffing and puffing dance floor do you think it's sexsually directed for the intention of one another or do you think it's put on?

Speaker 4 09:02
Well, I think it's just nothing to do it has to do with sexual. Just go out and do whatever you feel like, you know, each night is a trip you go out. Just have a good time.

Interviewer
Is that what you do? Just go out and have a good time? Do you fulfill your fantasies by dressing this way?

Speaker 4
For me?

Interviewer
Do you have any fun fulfilling fantasies?

Speaker 3
I definitely do. I think I love fantasy. The clothes really gave you that

Interviewer
The fantasy of dressing this way.

Speaker 3
It's like being a different person every night or every other night.
03:31:56 588.63 thumbnail
Interviewer
How many people you've portrayed or disco?

Speaker 3 09:53
Well, it's hard to say it depends on the mood you're in. I mean, you can portray this Same person for a whole month. Other times every night, it could be something different. And it has to do a lot with clothing. You know, I'm a designer so the clothes have great influence and it

Interviewer
being a designer do you get any fashion ideas.

Speaker 3
Definitely. So it's like a great inspiration.(Interviewer, In what way?). Well, people, people are very the greatest inspiration you know, when it comes to anything. Just walking on the street I get inspired. And New York

Snakeman
Well, some love it. Some hate it.

Why do you dress that way?

Speaker 5 Snakeman
I think it's because I like Halloween. It's great to be come out of the ordinary days, life routine, and really get into something different. It's a change of pace. And I think that's why we all look for vacations. Well I like a change of pace every week.

Interviewer
Do you go out like that often.

Snakeman
When I go to discos Yes. Well, occasionally the parties. The parties are pretty interesting.

Interviewer
What do you dress like in the daytime?

Very, moderately conservative. I get away with it because I'm an art director.

Interviewer
You are a art director, where?

Snakeman
at JC Penney Company

Interviewer
What's the reason you dress this way? Is it for recognition?

Speaker 5 Snakeman
Partly, but it's nice to make people happy. I think that's one of the reasons why I use confetti. I always go out on a dance floor with the confetti and a fan and a whistle.

Interviewer
What is disco dancing done for your life?

Speaker 5 Snakeman
Well, I think when I was a kid, I liked to jump around. And you know, a lot of mothers say will you stop jumping around? You're making so much dust. Well, now I have an approval from all the adults. And I can jump around.
03:33:53 706.51 thumbnail
Interviewer
What do you think of New York nightlife?

Snakeman
I think it's exciting. I think here is where it is.

Speaker 2 Interviewer
Why do you feel there's more freedom to express oneself in New York nightlife than anywhere else in the world?

Speaker 5 Snakeman
Probably because it's a melting pot of just everybody. And uh

Speaker 2 Interviewer
you think there's more freedom of expression of sexuality in New York?

Speaker 5 Snakeman
Absolutely.

Interviewer
In what mannerisms

Snakeman
Oh in the way people dress, what they do in discos and the whole attitude towards relationships.

Interviewer
Do you think it arouses the sexual desires in the people around them watching?

Snakeman
I would think so. Yes.

Speaker 2 Interviewer
Do you think it offends anybody to see you dancing with your snake?

Speaker 5 Snakeman
I would say the percentage is low, but most people get a big delight out of it. They're curious and frightened. And they're delighted. Bonwit Teller, JC Penney, you name it. They're all being affected by the disco styles. But I think its a change of pace

Interviewer
what effect does the music and the lights have on you,

Speaker 5 Snakeman
Immense tremendous, it's exhilarating. It's ah, it brightens your whole spirit, The beat is tremendous.

Speaker 2 Interviewer
You think it relieves the frustrations of the day. Do you think it enhances
03:36:34 866.77 thumbnail
Snakeman
it relieves them

Interviewer
Does it pick up the tension or

Speaker 5 Snakeman
get rid of the tension? Makes me feel relaxed. At this moment I think New York City is the place.

Interviewer
How old is that snake>

Snakeman
Snake is 12 years old.

Interviewer
Has he ever bitten?

Snakeman
No. Yes he has. He was very little about two feet long and he was very hungry. And he snapped at me but that's okay.

Speaker 2 Interviewer
What does he eat?

Snakeman
He eats rats.

Interviewer
Do you have any difficulty getting, Eats rats? Do you let him out at night in the streets?

Speaker 5 Interviewer
Oh, I get special rats for him and he gets fed about every three weeks.

Speaker 2 Interviewer
Do you think you look, let me ask you something more about the fashion. Do you think women look sexier in the closer that the disco hsa allowed them to wear?

Snakeman
absolutely. I love

Interviewer
What do you think about the nudity you see every now and then.

Speaker 5 Snakeman
I think it's a curiosity. I don't think people are too much offended by it. They let it pass by. I have no idea. I'm really trying to discover what could they do next? It's part of my job to look for new directions and new things. And even the JC Penney's and because of that I'm stimulated in other areas such as dress. The disco gives me that freedom.

Speaker 2 Interviewer
What does your wife think about you and your snake going out on your motorcycle at night and having a good time?

Speaker 5 Snakeman
Well, she just stands back and says okay, go ahead.

Interviewer
Before disco nightlife, what was your nightlife? Like?

Speaker 5 16:03
Pretty dull. I find that I relate to people better I have a sense of wanting to know other people, and they are communicating with me because we have something in common
