It is different in its way and its uh you know this one it’s really truly about dragon riders and dragons you know and being the last of you know sort of like Kingdom that can host and certainly allow dragons to live, it’s a beautiful story you know again it has nothing to do with Lord of the Ring, I mean its sort of like in the same setting and that uhm fantastic world but again it’s a different, complete different |

I’ve seen some of it (talks) I mean Hollywood’s an interesting place, if you go to the right places and you do the right things you can avoid the crap, you avoid the pretentiousness you can be right in the mix of it and that’s dangerous. |

Yes or any first direct, my directorial debut so to speak (talks) Well yes because the studio actually asked me wouldn’t you first like to make a small film I said well all the ones I’ve worked on have sort of been these types of films, this is what I know how to do and in a way what I was really more concerned about and wanted to focus on was directing actors and you know I had a wonderful cast and really some great actors that I’ve respected over many years so it was really a pleasure to work with them. |

Uh I think yeah maybe five years ago by a fellow yeah seven years ago maybe, he started when he was 15 years he completed at 17 with the support of his family and so its really a great perspective cause he writes about the heroes as if it was himself you know its different then you know a 30 year old writing about being a teenager, he really was in that stage and I think that’s why his expression of the character the desires, the dreams and the feelings are so profound and that’s why I think young audiences really have connected with it. |

Yeah he lives in the middle of nowhere really home schooled you know and I think he’s an avid movie watcher, I think they watch 300 movies a year and you can sort of see the strong influence between Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and all the different elements and yet he really created all of that which he’d seen before into a unique story and that’s why I really appreciate it. |

It was the confluence of a huge number of different elements, one I had a lot of time on my hands because I graduated high school at fifteen so I had extra time on my hands, I was growing up and I wanted to write about that, I loved writing fantasy but most important of all my family supported me every day I was working on this and without them I wouldn’t be where I am now, families very thing. |
