Sound Bite: Siobhan F. Hogan – Saw any other shoots in Canada?
There weren’t any in Winnipeg but there were some in Vancouver, that the crew would talk back and forth and Toronto of course.

Sound Bite: Siobhan F. Hogan – You had a fun character to play
I had a great character. (talking) Oh it was like a diamond in the rough, when I got this script I was like this is too good to be true dead god help me get this part. So I uh I mean I love my part. (talking) Siriqous I got that flat accent outside Siriqous a little town called Casinovia. So it’s 12,000 people so I could relate so much to this script because I am from a small town and I can relate to these people. (talking) And it’s cold but not as cold as Winnipeg. I mean Siriqous could be 15 below but we had a 56 degree below it’s the coldest, it’s truly the coldest place on earth. (talking) Completely.

Sound Bite: Siobhan F. Hogan – what do you think makes the characters so loveable?
I think that um it’s a mixture and I think that they have um more traditional values and so they look at you know when Renee’s character Lucy comes to town to down size our cheese factory we don’t think along that way we think let’s make it work we don’t’ give up and we don’t get rid of peoples jobs to save money we keep their jobs and we’ll take cut backs in other places and my character, which I loved so much being a big fat catholic, um was that I talk about Jesus throughout the film and not in a mocking way, not in a disrespecting way so it’s so nice and I think that my character and these people really look for the good in people. I mean they are defiantly judging her when she first gets there they are going to make it rough for her but they are willing to take her in and love her if she if she loves them.

Sound Bite: Siobhan F. Hogan
Yes exactly they get right down to it they’re like tell me about yourself do you have anybody? Well which truly in real life I’m a fixer-uper I’ve fixed up so many people and you know why waste all of the time you know you just have to get right down to the niddy griddy and um one of the ways that I think that people do it, I don’t think they intentionally have tricks but I think like giving tapioca pudding like my character does or inviting them to your house like let’s get to know each other really fast cause I got to get to know you real fast. (talking) They are just interested, yeah.

Sound Bite: Siobhan F. Hogan – talk about the accent
Um no. I have a funny accent anyway it’s a flat accent and I went to a vocal coach Liz Himelstien who’s a great vocal coach and she said Siobhan you got to think about the Swedish how the Swedes speak because they settled in Minnesota and there’s a really singsongy cadence and then you’ve got to think about your mouth being a little closed because they are so cold that they don’t want to open their mouth and. (talking) That’s what she told me, hey listen I’d buy it, like um so anyway that’s and so you listen to people, oh I called some people out there that she gave me phone numbers of and talked to them and then once you hear it and then the guy who played my husband Harvard it he and I would talk in the accent all the time which I really hate that when actors do that, oh shut that up just wait till we get to the set, but um but I became one of those people so judge not let ye be judged.

Sound Bite: Siobhan F. Hogan – they do crafts
Oh yes well um actually I just heard on the radio that craft company’s profits have gone through the roof because when people stay home because they don’t have much money to spend out you don’t want to just sit and stare at the TV you want to do something worthwhile with your time while you’re talking to your friends and finding out the town gossip why not um make a scrapbook. (talking) Scraper, I’m a scraper
