Malin – Well its pretty phenomenal you know I think that was from the first moment I, I saw the script I mean that was already I had no previous uh uh uh Patrick – Awareness Malin – Awareness, I’m losing my mind I’m sorry. No previous awareness of Watchmen and so reading the script I just kind of went you know what is this, is this unbelievable and where did it come from and so I went and got the source material and of course it is exactly, its exactly just what you said I mean its ground breaking and so to actually be a part of it, I mean I was begging for the part, I just was keeping my fingers crossed and praying that this would become mine. Uhm so it feels pretty phenomenal but I have to say filming it you know you kind of lose all of that and you lose what you’re doing and you lose all the pressures and all the sort of, the outside comments and you just get right into it because its so dense and there’s so much to do, so its fabulous. |

Carla – I knew of it but I actually hadn’t read it until I read this script and then was completely blown away. I think that’s the thing about it, readying it you go wow this is going to be such a challenge to make as a movie and so exciting if it can be pulled off. And then you sat down with Zack, I saw down you know and I know we all had the same experience you sit down with him and within mere moments you’re like this is the man for the job. And Patrick – You’re going to pull it off Malin – Exactly and I’m so thankful in some way I got picked to do this uhm so its been, its been uh and its been just a group of incredibly creative people who are really passionate about doing it right. So even from the beginning all the sort of external forces have been much less important than just making a great movie you know. |

Malin – He was actually, I mean he was uh he was not naked and painted blue by any means but he was definitely uh not on set just off uhm no he was just in pajamas basically, white pajamas with blue LED lights all over and dots on his face and uhm of course it took some getting used to because that’s that’s really hard to respect him in a way of this superhuman almighty man when he’s standing there in a white pajamas like a human Christmas Tree. Uhm But it was fanta- but I’m so glad because Billy is such a fantastic actor and I I couldn’t have done any of my my parts without him so I am really really excited that I had a real human being in front of me. |

Patrick – Well that’s completely on purpose yeah. You know I think he’s the quintessential uhm self made, gadget making, uhm crime fighter, or superhero or comic book hero I guess, so that’s certainly, I mean they say he’s loosely based on either you know Moon Night or The Blue Beetle or some of these old old old cartoons from the 60’s and 70’s I guess but even beyond that he really is, the Batman quality is absolutely on purpose and intentional and so just like in the comic even though the suit it’s a different color palette it certainly echoed Adam West comics, you know not Adam West comics but the Adam West TV Show and the comics at the time pre Tim Burton, Michael Keatan Batman. So now you can certainly see where Michael Wilkinson’s took that from now what our perceptions of Batman are in Dark Knight and all the Batman’s that have been made over you know almost 20 years. So yes the similarities are completely on purpose and intentional. |
