Sound Bite: Katherine McPhee & Emma Stone & Rumer Willis – message of feeling beautiful
McPhee – I think so. Well I don’t that certainly (talks) Yeah I don’t think it’s certainly the overall message but I think it is important you know just for everyone I mean I think every girl no matter what size, what color, what race, everyone should feel beautiful at some point in their life. You know everyone deserves that to feel good about themselves when they go out the door and you know like hey if it’s not their thing to put on their makeup and do their hair then it’s not their thing, that’s how they feel comfortable but um that’s certainly like you know definitely something that Shelly kind of shows is like hey you know let me just sproof you up a little bit and we kind of find a happy medium between the 2.
Stone – I think it’s kind of, oh go ahead I’m sorry. (talks) Are you sure? Oh I was just gonna say that I think um a big part of the movie is that when we go to this extreme and um I think that our initial extreme is you know to get more members for our sorority or its gonna be gone and um so we originally change into little Shellies because everybody likes Shelly and we want everybody to like us but…
Willis – And we almost lose…
Stone – …the final transformation, once the final kind of transformation happens, it’s more about us feeling good for us than feeling good because we want other people to notice.

Sound Bite: Katherine McPhee & Emma Stone & Rumer Willis – what did she like about her character
Willis – Um well I really liked Joanne because I feel like Joanne is kind of you know she’s uh she’s the runt of the group, she’s kind of the unexpected underdog I guess in a way because she you know she’s she hides a lot and she kind of each of us has found something to kind of that we use almost as an excuse or defense mechanism to kind of hide and not really have to deal with social situations and Joanne’s is obviously her um her brace and you know it makes it easy because as much as you know you want to be liked by boys and it’s a lot easier to just kind of hide and kind of you know be like a turtle in her shell. But the great thing is you know she gets to kind of go to that other side and you kind of see that when she does break out that she really actually did um she wants to kind of be like that and kind of have that confidence that I think every girl wants to have.

Sound Bite: Katherine McPhee & Emma Stone & Rumer Willis
Willis – Well there’s not I think, women in general it’s not like there’s the really super pretty girls or just pretty all the time, I think every girl is at an awkward stage.
McPhee – No hair and no makeup can ever make you feel um like the um that you’ve you know gotten to your ultimate you know high in life. At the end of the day your hair you know dies down and your makeup comes off, and you’re left with you so um I think for me that’s at least from my real life, and for Harmony the character I think that was sort of like what I keep in perspective and what they kind of learned that there’s a balance between the 2.
