In: 10.48.01 Out: 10.49.34 Sound Bite: Freddy Rodriguez Yes finally a guy that understands the dynamic between hanging with your homeboys as they say huh. Yeah it was an interesting dynamic, especially in this film you know, I’ve seen a lot of buddy films and male bonding films in the past I guess if that’s what you wanna categorize it as but this one rang especially true for me in particular because I grew up in this type of neighborhood, I grew up with these types of guys, I grew up within these types of relationships. So I just think that sometimes you know you establish a deep rooted relationship with a friend that goes beyond comprehension or that anybody can even understand, even to the extent that you know you’re even like willing to dis your girlfriend to go hang out or to go on a last hurra you know. And that’s what sort of happens in this film. You know people always ask me well why do you think that is? And there’s a lot of different reasons I think that is but I think maybe sometimes one of the reasons is, is in this situation or these settings sometimes there’s absence of a male figure in a persons life you know and then you go on and you seek that elsewhere. And then when you, sometimes you find that within the friends that you allow to come into your lives and when that that’s sort of the basis as well then it becomes that much more deep rooted. And when it becomes that more deep rooted its harder to shake that or let that go when you turn 30 as these guys did in this film and are still doing the same thing they were doing when they were like 17. |

In: 10.49.57 Out: 10.50.51 Sound Bite: Freddy Rodriguez Well you know it was, it was just sort of, you know my character was a reactor more in this film you know but to have to feed off that character aspect of Christians character was just, you know what happens between two friends in a relationship you know whether you’re having good days or bad days, you know if you’re having a bad day and your friend is suffering from post war traumatic syndrome and he’s doing crazy stuff like throwing bottles through people’s windshields and you just react you know. But that’s the great dynamic between the relationship is that where Jim is a master manipulator and manipulates to go on these excursions and do stupid things, Mike has the ability to calm him down when he goes on his rampages or escapades. And that’s sort of the yin and the yang in the relationship. |

In: 10.51.08 Out: 10.51.45 Sound Bite: Freddy Rodriguez There’s a struggle for this soul in this movie, my character so there’s a tug of war happening between good and evil. I mean it, point point blank it’s between good and evil. Eva Longoria’s character being the good and Christians character being the evil and there’s just this tug of war and its all about decisions in this film, what decisions you make effects your life obviously. And ultimately some of his decisions lead him down a bad road but at the end his decision to amputate the evil out of his life serves him well. |
