Yes I play Antonio, I’m a doctor that works in a research lab with Hugh Jackmans character and we basically are trying to find a cure for cancer and we inadvertently stumble on a cure for aging instead and that causes the story to kind of take a turn.

The movie has very much exactly to do with that you know avoiding the idea of it, avoiding accepting in it and finding your way through that is what the movie is really about.

It was very much a learning experience, he’s a great actor, a very intense committed guy, very fearless in how he goes about his work and you know I have a lot of admiration for him.

Several resurrections from the grave I mean this is the film that would not die , it took a really really long time to make but I think me and my fellow filmmakers really deeply believed in it, we wanted to take audiences on a new type of journey, a new experience and for me that’s been the best thing. I’ve been all over the world the past couple of weeks and people have been saying hey man that’s man that’s not a movie that’s an experience and for me that’s been a great complement.

Well when the film first died, one of the big deaths I thought it was really dead for a while I went out and found a graphic, a comic book artist who’s here tonight Kent Williams and together we worked on a creating a graphic novel version of the film.

Well I don’t want to give it all away because I want people to read about it afterwards but you know there’s no CGI in the movie, most films, more Sci-Fi films you expect to see tons of CGI and special effects but this film we wanted to do something completely different so we found this guy out in the UK who’s been shooting tiny chemical reactions through a microscope and that’s what your going to see when you see all the space backgrounds, its hard to believe it when you see it but that’s what we did. (talks) We wanted to make something that was completely different and from the beginning we wanted to try and reinvent how Science Fiction films were done so we kind of through out the whole concept of trucks in space and big chunks of steel in space and we wanted to change outer space into inner space and that was all part of the journey.

As long as I had an out clause I would yes (talks) We if it’s not fun I could stop you know. I would like to live forever until I didn’t want to anymore. Could we change it to not live forever but determine when I die (talks) I bet you wouldn’t be able to do it, I bet you wouldn’t be able to just say ok now I’m gonna die, I bet you couldn’t. (talks) I don’t think I could do it, I don’t think I could do the live forever thing no.

I have no idea, there are things in the past that I wouldn’t mind experiencing but the future I don’t Know. I mean a really really solid cure for athlete’s foot, I’d like to experience that. Not that I have it but I figure there going to nail that sometime in the future at some point and I wouldn’t mind being around just to see what it is, out of curiosity.

There’s a great plastic surgeon just down the road. Well in Australia we call it the Ambernector Beer that apparently works, drink a lot of beer and the thing about this movie I love, seriously speaking is that the movie is kind of saying that you kind of have to come to terms with death in order to to experience the fountain of youth, to live your life to the full. And so so I don’t know but If you had a little vile over there I’d take a swig.
00:23:30 1378.87

Good point, Rachel is an amazing actress and amazing woman and I cant image playing that part with anyone else. It really is a love story and these two you know it’s pretty full on. This is a guy coping with his wife who may die and that’s you know, I’ve been married for ten years I would hate to even think about that so it’s a pretty full on situation.

Yeah I’ve been really happy with this year, a month ago I was like I have four movies coming out in a month not my idea by the way and I thought if they don’t go well this could be the last red carpet ever do but so far its doing ok and next year I’m shooting with Baz Luhrman and I have a movie called out called The Tourist with I’m Shooting right now with Ewan McGregor.

Terrible, I mean Hugh Jackman has no talent what-so-ever and he’s no charm, ugly guy. You know Hugh is really is a really unique person and this movie The Fountain is a love story, it’s the ultimate romantic movie, I think it’s the ultimate date movie and what we had to play was two people massively in love with each other and tragically in love each other and we had great chemistry I love working with him. He’s hugely talented, he’s got great depth and great skills as an actor and one of the nicest I’ve ever met.

You know the best way to explain is that I got to meet the director and he got to meet the actress. I think who we are at work is a really different person from who we are when were home in the morning when were making eggs you know getting ready for work. So I got to see how talented he is at what he does so it was very touching.

I don’t think, I think, There’s that thing of all of us never wanting to experience pain and never wanting to experience loss but if you could live forever you know the world around you would change and you would lose everyone you loved and I think that what makes life meaningful is the fact that its finite so.
00:27:55 1643.87

I would like to see world peace seriously and I would also like to see a pill that you could take that keeps you from putting on weight when you eat chocolate.
