Tom: Oh good yeah, I mean that’s are goal, there’s no reason you should go to a movie just to take your kids and wait till its over to take them home, you know, we really want everyone to enjoy it together, so we kind of like, the kids may like the funny animation, the adults may like the dialogue or the situation, that’s are goal, from the start.

Eric: Well you know that we both just love it, ever since we were kids, the world of animation has just thrilled and enthralled us, you know, and we even went back to the roots of animation some of the Warner Brothers films as inspiration for us, you know, the stuff that Tex Avery did, Bob Clampett, and uh, that was our challenge in doing the Madagascar films is to find ways to push those characters and give it some of that great exaggeration we grew living as kids.

Uh, funny jokes, you know, I think the kids like the characters, this kids like the jokes too, it’s like, you know the penguins are just like, you know if the movie was just about the main characters, I mean I think the kids would still love it and the adults would love that the kids love it, but the penguins and the lemurs and the chimps are just such good, strong, funny pieces of comedy that it’s a real, its real easy to take your kids too something and you don’t sleep through, and I have slept through many a kids movies, you know.

Mark: I think it’s the collaboration we work with like 450 talented artists on a daily basis and it’s great seeing what each of those bring to the project.

You know I think it’s a lot of things that a lot of adults can relate too, of love of family of just being unique, it’s ok to be unique and I think that you go to Madagascar and you just smile, Will I Am has got some great music, you smile you, you laugh at the little innuendos that we only can get as adults, but you come out going it was a really good movie.

You know, I like Gloria, I love Gloria the hippo, Gloria has not one self esteem problem, she’s a thick girl and she likes being thick and you cant tell her that thick girls do not rule the world and I just love her, cause she just about getting stuff done, so I relate to Gloria.

I think, you know, they are relatable characters and um, there’s a level of humor that’s going on that sort of the jokes that kids don’t get, I always think its fun that there’s jokes that the adults can go, hey the kids aren’t getting that. But I got it, it makes and adult feel smart or something.

Well I guess a combination of things, one of the things you don’t have to worry about like makeup or hair or wardrobe, you just kind of like jeans and a t-shirt, you roll up, what’s up, and just kind of, just play, it’s like being a kid, cause you don’t have the other actors to respond too and look in there eyes, so you really are imaging everything, your creating the whole world for yourself in that little recording booth.

OC: The guys meet their own kind, what was that like?
Chris: It was kind of like when you meet journalists you know your just happy and then you meet people with mics, you have a mic connected to your hand to, boy I thought I was the only with a mic connected to my hand, your happy you start crying you break down, but eventually you want to go to your old adopted parents without mics in there hands and that’s what pretty much happens in this movie

So to be here with him on Madagascar 2 is the, you know what I mean, it just put me up, a whole notch on life, that experience and how to do music in a film and all that, I’m ready for the big league now.

Oh my goodness, the freedom, personally, it’s so much fun to be able to go off on tangents, take the script that they’ve given you and play and not have to wear a dress, that’s always good and heels, that kind of thing and to be able to collaborate especially, I can really only, I have to say it has been a more singular experience working with these guys at DreamWorks on Madagascar because you know Tom and Eric and Mirelle and Mark there all so like amazing creators and they really fun, they like to play, so there like oh, I was thinking maybe this and there like, oh yeah, go with that and try that, there really fun to play, so it’s kind of like being with your best friends in college, you know, like, it’s really, really fun.
