Yes. (talks) right well it’s, you know LA has lost so much production to Canada and other countries and other states. (talks) Yes and so they’re willing to give more to films now, excuse me. They’re willing to play ball more, so they wanted to keep the movie in LA, so you know we asked for big street shutdowns and neighborhood shutdowns, and they were like, oh man, they’re like, well people are just you so sick of filming in LA, you can’t do it, but then I really thought about it, and nobody’s really doing this in LA anymore, so like actually people aren’t sick, and the reaction we got generally was it’s great to see a big movie being shot in the streets of Los Angeles, and you know we felt really reconnected to the culture in LA making this film.

Sound Bite: Peter Berg – this film being unique
Uh it was what attracted us all to it. You know I love the idea of doing a summer superhero film. Couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do, and Will Smith called and said you should look at this movie, and when I read the character, you know this depressed, messed up, alcohol abusive superhero, I could see Will playing it, and it felt like a way of doing something you know much more original with the genre.
