Sound Bite: Anne Hathaway – what made this project different
Well, for starters, I’m Steve Carell’s biggest fan, let’s just clear the air and let me say that, so um in addition to being a huge fan of Get Smart and thinking it was a great idea and loving Pete Segal and, I’ve really just wanted to work with Steve Carell which is the reason why I auditioned. I didn’t think I was gonna get the role, I thought that, no I thought that I was gonna be too young for it, not really the right type, I mean nothing in my body of work suggested that I could play a sexy secret ass kicking agent, so um so really I just went into the audition with a goal of impressing Steve Carell and somehow it all worked out really well for me. |

Well it was I mean I never thought that I would get to play a role like this, I’m so thrilled that I did. It’s a great role, and I think the um, you mentioned matching Steve Carell and stamina (talks) well the thing that I like about this Get Smart is um, there’s no, back in the original because of the, it was just the morals of the time it was uh 99 was a woman in a man’s world. Now it’s just the workplace, but and back then she could keep up with the boys, now women can set the pace, so I thought that was very cool. |
