Early sound film by Lee DeForest filmed in 1923 . Black performers sing and play tune from the ground breaking All-Black Broadway Show SHUFFLE ALONG 1921. Eubie Blake was an American pianist and composer of ragtime, jazz, and popular music. In 1921, he and his long-time collaborator Noble Sissle wrote Shuffle Along, one of the first Broadway musicals written and directed by African Americans. They are both associated with the Harlem Renaissance.
