Yeah I’m very excited it’s my first premiere so it’s a good one to come to (how did you face the photographers) Uh with a fixed smile and it kind of stayed there throughout, very dry mouth now (what was more challenging photographers or battle scenes) Photographers, the battle scenes aren’t a problem.
A07. HRN-992
In: 00.04.13 Out: 00.04.27
Sound Bite: Tom Wisdom
We had uh two months of intensive training before we started filming and then we carried on all the way through so we were doing an hour and a half physical training every day and then three hours of fight training and then by the end of it we were very, very fit.
A08. HRN-992
In: 00.04.32 Out: 00.04.54
Sound Bite: Tom Wisdom
Oh if I carried on? Not quite religiously as we did no, I’ve uh, no it was growling we were nervous going in everyday going into training cause we didn’t know what we were going to have to do. (have you seen the movie?) Yeah I saw it two weeks ago for the first time and it’s, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s amazing, Zach’s done an amazing job with it.

You know I don’t think anybody is really I mean because look the truth is we took technology off the shelf, it wasn’t like we invented anything to make 300 all I did was go oh I think this looks cool you know it’s not a reinvention of the process but (points) there’s Kurt Johnsted right over there, sorry that’s my best friend over there. Uhm anyway uh we just took basically the same technology that, you know putting a guy in front of a blue screen and filming them its basically like your weather man has the same technology its not like ‘woah wow that crazy’. So in that way I think all it is, is that we had Frank’s book and me going I think that’s cool and you end up with 300. And I honestly believe it’s very particular to 300, its not, I would never, I would never suggest to anyone else to try and use the same things that we did to make a historical epic because it was exhausting and possible but on the other hand it was the thing that kind of made 300 what it is and the thing that makes 300 particular and and have this kind of I think anyways a coolness but like it’s history and its modern at the same time. You its like I don’t know.
A15 HRN-992
In: 00.08.25 Out: 00.08.45
Sound Bite: Zach Snyder
I mean it certainly, what is, is that when Sin City came out and Sin City was popular what happened was the experience of Sin City make Frank’s esthetic viable commercially and that was the thing we were selling in 300.
A16. HRN-992
In: 00.09.12 Out: 00.09.21
B-Roll – Frank Miller
A17. HRN-992
In: 00.09.26 Out: 00.09.38
Sound Bite: Frank Miller
Oh yes I do, its drawing come to life, mine and Varley’s work is translated in many ways that really shocked me.
A18. HRN-992
In: 00.12.30 Out: 00.13.00
Sound Bite: David Wenham
Probably for I think physically uh because everybody had to make some form of transformations, we all looked as a unit, we fought as one, there is no one individual that stood out. I terms of the imagination you didn’t have to imagine terribly much because the blue screen was there for the environment all the actors were there, all the stunt guys were there so we fought real people we didn’t have to imagine creatures that weren’t there.
A19. HRN-992
In: 00.13.01 Out: 00.13.16
Sound Bite: David Wenham
Too much but uhm we all did train a lot which was uhm pretty heavy game but worth it and I wish I could stay I still train like that now but I don’t, I’d like too, I don’t have that many hours in the day.
A20. HRN-992
In: 00.13.18 Out: 00.13.33
Sound Bite: David Wenham
In some areas yeah I think stylistically its unique, I think the fight sequences I believe are probably maybe the best they have ever been uhm on screen of course. So I think in that way it does raise the bar.
A21. HRN-992
In: 00.13.36 Out: 00.14.09
Sound Bite: David Wenham
Yeah it’s in Baz Luhrman’s new film sort of an Epic Adventure that uh set in Australia and after this little tour I go back to Australia and we’ll probably be on that for most of the year which will be an adventure, it will be great (talks) I play uhm a man who manages a kettle station in Australia but a kettle station that’s basically the size of Belgium. (talks) I will be with Nicole and I will be with Hugh.
A22. HRN-992
In: 00.14.15 Out: 00.14.54
Sound Bite: Andrew Tiernan
Quite a bit, a lot, a lot yeah I’m covered head to toe. Uhm it was intense yeah very sticky, it was horrible having it taken off, it was good getting put on but when they take it off and its pulling at your skin and around your eyes and everything like that that’s horrible. (how long was the make-up session) Uhm about 10 hours was the longest session, it was like getting a flight to London to La, yeah sitting there spun around and you couldn’t sleep, you wasn’t allowed to like rest at any point, it was very difficult (Did it pay off) I hope so. So we’ll just have to wait and see.
A23. HRN-992
In: 00.14.54 Out:00.15.05
Sound Bite: Andrew Tiernan
Uhm I have but I’m very judgmental from my own performances so I don’t really know if it’s good or not I have to wait and see what these guys say, I’m sure its good.

A27. HRN-992
In: 00.16.57 Out: 00.17.11
Sound Bite: Rodrigo Santoro
Yeah it’s uh, uh, uh, it’s hard work when you’re working against the blue screen you do have to use a lot of your imagination but uh I, I found like a pretty freeing experience in a way.
A28. HRN-992
In: 00.17.18 Out: 00.17.31
