It’s wonderful to be with you all today celebrating Michelle and her amazing career she is an extrodinary actor she is very well preserved, michelle really surprises us we never know what she’s gonna pull out of her gig bag when she performs. She rarely plays herself she always disappears fully into her character, she sells in drama, comedy. She’ll make us laugh our asses off and break our hearts an example of that was in a movie I got to do with her with my big brother Beau called The Fabulous Baker Boys and Beau you know has been in Hawaii lately with his family but he really wanted to be here with you, Hawaii the sequel Suzie diamond and the Baker Boys the aloha tour, do you like that. I kinda like that she was so incredible in that movie the things one of the talents she’s not recognized at least I think for is her beautiful singing voice. My favorite song which she sung in the Fabulous Baker Boys. Was a song called more than you know, was for Suzy Diamond auditions it was a gorgeous song it’s not on the album of the movie I don’t know why it’s not but when we shot that scene in the makeup trailer telling her what a beautiful voice she had and how she was going to get a record deal no problem she said no no, Michelle your going to get a record deal I bet you a thousand dollars lets shake on it right now we shook hands and I may be wrong on this but I believe you were offered a recode deal and so I am prepared to wave my thousand dollars if right now you will sing more than you know acapella for all of us. No I’m kidding there’s no payment, no singing right now but please, keep up your wonderful performances we love you so much and I am honored to be a part of this star giving ceremony, you deserve it congrats babe. |

Wow I’ve never been a part of anything quite like this, this is an honor I feel to be here with you Michelle Oh and um when people say the name Michelle Pfeifer people usual response that people give is the most beautiful woman on Earth, absolutely stunning. What you seldom hear is just how dark and ugly she is on the inside I’m kidding of course that was a joke it was right there and I had to take it judging by the response I wish II hadn’t. Anyway we worked on a film together called I Could Never Be Your Woman, and you love that movie, you saw that movie it hasn’t even come out yet wow, you must have been in Spain, Anyway it was honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had and it was because I got to work with you, you are so wonderful and funny and I was incredibly nervous because she’s Michelle Pfeifer and the very first day she made me feel so comfortable that it just turned out to be a total blast not mant people are so good at drama and comedy and like he said singing so well even last week by the way I’m not kidding I watched a little bit of Grease 2 and I kinda new all the words to cool rider. Anyway I just wanted to say I’m absolutely honored and privileged to be here, congratulations and thank you so much for including me and way to go congratulations. |

I really don’t want to forget anyone because I have a lot of people to thank. First of all I would like to thank Johnny Grant from the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for including me in one of the oldest traditions in our industry to honor me for my work and Paramount Studios for hosting this event it only seems fitting that they would since my first major motion picture, Grease 2 was from Paramount Studious. I really want to thank Jeff Bridges and Paul Rudd for coming today, I’m so moved and once again proving to be the two nicest leading men I’ve ever been lucky enough to work with and maybe two of the nicest guys on the planet thank you so much. There’s so many people that go in to making an actors career and those who are most I want to thank my mother who isn’t here right now but she first really preached to me about having a career, she said Michelle you need to have a career before you get married and she instilled me with the belief that I can do anything and set my sights as high as I wanted, and I want to thank my father who taught me the importance of it didn’t matter of what you chose to do it was that you did what ever it was to the best of your ability and that if you worked hard you could make something of yourself and he would be really proud to se me here accepting this. I have to thank all of the different Actors and directors that trusted me and that I have been so blessed to work with and I’ve had so many people past and present who have stood by me who supported me and fought for me and protected me and some of them are here today, Eric lacasey, Joyce Barton, Dave Parrid, Kate Ginsburgh, Mike Metavoight, I’m just so happy to see them all here and Barry Kurr for standing by my side through thick and thin, professionally and personally for 25 years. My stellar team Chris Andrews, John Levin and everyone at CAA for there unfailing belief in me and efforts on my behalf you know for an actress in her forties it really does take a village and these guys are proud of us and work really hard. I’d love to thank Edward Lotto if not for him the twenty years of his love and devotion to my career my hand print wouldn’t be trampled over by tourists on Hollywood Boulevard. Lois Smith if not for her endless patience and hand holding and slightly manipulative coaxing I wouldn’t have sticked to the business long enough to have a star on Hollywood Blvd. and my present publicist Annette Wolf, if not for her endless patience hand holding and slightly manipulative coaxing I wouldn’t be here today for very different reasons. I want to thank my family my brothers and sisters for their undying loyalty and their the most fun people to be around and my choice toas companion as people I trust most in thie world and my children John and Claudia for their patience and understanding beyond their years especially when they’re way too young to grasp the nuttiness of this profession, and to David there was something in some lines I said in the Russia house to Sean Connery my character sand oit was all of my past failures were in preparation to meeting you and I remember when I said those lines to Sean I wept not as my character but as myself thinking oh my God those are the most romantic beautiful lines I have ever heard if only I could feel that way about someone and it wasn’t until the day that I met my husband that that became a part of my life and I want to thank my husband for no matter where I am in the world he is by my side making me feel like the luckiest girl in the room thank you all so much. |

Itt’s such a great honor and doubly so that so many people in my past have taken time out of their lives to come and honor me it’s really moving. (talks) it’s kind of bigger it’s the walk of fame it’s so permanent and part of history and such a great legacy. (talks) you know I just think you have to really think outside the box you have to change the way you think about your career because there are some real interesting parts out there for us, old broads |
