Reporter interviews Governor Collins seated on a sofa talks with Collins about a statement he had made that the people of Florida cannot expect the Negroes to accept the doctrine of 'staying in their place'. Governor Collins responds that he doesn't think anyone should be concerned that the Negroes staying in any 'place' that was visualized for them in the past. He states the Nego life is being improved rapidly, through better education, living conditions and health. With this progress will come other progress that we cannot reconcile with the old status quo that so many in the South had thought of that the Negro occupied for so many years.
