James – Yeah (talks) I haven’t done anything like it uhm it was very refreshing
Seth – It was, I was refreshed.

James – Oh thank you, uhm it was uh I think it was a leap of faith for everybody I had never really done anything like this uhm uh Judd asked me if I wanted to work with them and then uh I would, I assumed I would play Dale and I think it would only be you know Judd and Seth you know who’ve known me for a while who would say, you know who would give me an opportunity to play a role like this (talks)
Seth – Yeah no he he did great you know I mean yeah when we first sent him the script we did think he should play the part I ultimately played and we wrote his part for me I mean very specifically the whole time we were writing it we thought I’m going to play that part and then when he said you know I’d kind of like to play the other part and we were really having uh yeah we were kind of having a hard time envisioning what my character would be like I have to say, what the Dale character would be like but then as soon as you said that we felt like oh that makes sense and he could be Sal and he’ll do like you know uh you know Brad Pitt True Romance was kind of always like the blue print for it and uhm and then we thought oh like if I’m Dale that kind of gives it a different personality then we had written which kind of made it interesting.

Seth – Uhm for the whole movie uhm you know Judd was the one who originally came up with the notion of a weed action movie (talks) Uhm that was the genre and then you know what what really seemed amusing to me and Evan as we were writing is was this kind of relationship between the drug dealer and the drug buyer we just thought it was something we hadn’t really seen explored in movies that it was something that through our personal lives we were somewhat familiar with and uh we just thought you know that could make a great movie if you got good action and good comedy and you have this strong relationship that I’d kind of never seen developed really in a movie then then that can be the movie that I want to go see you know.
