Joel - Uhm well in answer to the first question I uhm uhm I mean it sounds, everybody says it sounds like a platitude but its really true that uhm while its nice to get the acknowledgement of uh critics or even audiences uhm its theres something about being acknowledged by the same people that do the same thing that you do which uh is quite different and very special so uhm that’s why its so nice to get this award from the directors guild uhm Ill let Ethan take the next one.
Ethan – there certainly wasn’t any message from us or ? we were doing we were adapting I think a great novel by a great novelist and we tried to be faithful to that, I don’t know if Cormack McCarthy had a message was presenting problems that we all face and I don’t know he was giving us any uh messages about an answers but uhm we found the problems in the way that he posed them provocative and tried to be as I said faithful to the novel.

Joel – I really don’t know, I mean its very difficult as a filmmaker to analyze those things or try to second guess them, even try to analyze them is probably a dangerous thing, I mean you tell a story and you hope that people will respond to a story and you’re just grateful when it happens.
