Oh yeah I read the graphic novel, I knew, I knew about it when it came out uhm but in 86 but uh I was very much uh I was pretty busy at the time, it was my first year in film school and I was you know pretty much into like, although I was still pretty much a comic book fan, I was a comic book fan before that but you know I was turning into Cineafile and all artsy and like you know I’m in film school. And so then I read it in 86 you know the following year when it was novelized no im sorry 88 it was novelized uhm and I thought it was awesome, it blew me away, it made me crazy. I actually, it was one of the few things I considered like finished and maybe probably shouldn’t be a movie. (talks) well cause at the timei was like I can make anything into a movie, you know I’ll make your story into a movie, I’ll make that lamp into a movie you know but I read that book and I went “wow my egos not that big”. You know I cant handle that.

Absolutely especially CGI expensive character its like basically naked (talks) yeah no everyone asked me, I mean the studio asked me like if there was anyway like could he just be like a Ken Doll, could he just like a bump, what if he just had a bump there, people would get it. I’m like he’s supposed to be like having sex with his girlfriend so like I don’t know what he’s doing, that makes me more confused. Like I don’t know what, I don’t know like what he’s uh like how he can, like how he changes his body but that’s just really upsetting to think that he has to grow something that doesn’t – but anyway not to get to graphic.
