Sound Bite: Marisa Tomei – do independents just come her way or something she chooses a lot more of
I feel really comfortable um, I like working intimately, and I think there’s something that um what even though there’s not a lot of money it just brings out more heart and more spirit and more of like a group dynamic of doing something together.

Sound Bite: Marisa Tomei – did she know Mickey?
I hadn’t met him before and I was uh so I was open, I knew that Darren was really felt that he would be the character and I knew that the first day I walked on the set I didn’t even recognize him, I thought he was one of the bodybuilders.

Sound Bite: Marisa Tomei – still on Mickey
I know that he gained a lot of weight, put on a lot of muscle, and of course the hair is iconic already.

Sound Bite: Marisa Tomei – on her character
Well I think she’s tired of the things surrounding it. the lap dances and the selling drinks and just the chitchat and maybe the hours but not so much the actual dancing, because I think that does parallel Mickey’s character that they both are good at what they do and they still like it.

Sound Bite: Marisa Tomei – on playing a stripper and doing semi-nude scenes
Well it is part of the character and it’s more of um you know it’s it was a challenge and it was something that I never always stayed away from when I was younger and I didn’t want to do it and I was very clear that I didn’t want to do it, and then somehow Sidney Lumet asked me to do it and well then once you’ve crossed the line, I guess. But I can assure you I’m not making a statement, it just so happened that last year and this year I was asked to do these 2 particular roles with incredible filmmakers.
