Sound Bite: Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale – do they get questions from fans online?
Hudgens – We get questions from fans but I’d love to do like sit-in interviews with actual fans that’d be cool. (talks) The fans? Oh random things. What’s it like working with Zac Effron, you know tons of questions. I think kids are so honest, it’s always the best.
Sound Bite: Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale – has your life changed because of this?
Hudgens – I mean High School Musical has opened a lot of opportunities um I’ve been able to do things I never would’ve imagined, like travel the world, go on tour, perform in Brazil for 75,000 people and um it’s just been an amazing journey, I never thought I would have had the opportunities.
Sound Bite: Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale – are you surprised to the international anticipation
Tisdale – um no definitely I think that you know when we first premiered our first movie I just got really, it is so hard to really grasp that everyone around the world is watching this. You know you think like people in California are coming up to you, “Oh they love the movie.” But you never really think worldwide about it. um it is, you know it’s amazing. Obviously our schools are very different, education is very different all over the world and the fact that they do relate to it I think it’s because the music is universal and we have so much fun filming this movie that I think that really shows on screen and they enjoy watching it just as much as we enjoy doing it.
Sound Bite: Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale – when they get back together is it kind of like a family reunion?
Hudgens – Oh yeah um we continue to get closer and closer and um it’s amazing you know these are gonna be lifelong friends of mine. We just have so much fun because we’re all so passionate about what we do that whenever we do get together we can’t help ourselves but just have the time of our lives.
Sound Bite: Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale – is there any part of her character that’s like her in real life
Tisdale – No um no she is the person that you love to hate, um I feel that when I’m creating characters you know I look at you know experiences that I’ve been through with people that are like that um I do put a little of me in my character obviously with Sharpay, I’m very driven, she’s very driven, she loves to perform. I can relate to you know I’ve always really known what I’ve wanted in life and she knows what she wants. She goes about it a different way but um but you know I still relate to her in that way. However, she’s the comedic relief which I think that’s why you love to hate her, even though she is the mean girl and she is the one that’s stirring up drama and trouble that you know you just laugh at her she’s funny.
Sound Bite: Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale – same question w/ V’s character
Hudgens – I’ve actually figured out that I’m a lot like my character in the first movie um I thought I was nothing like Gabriella and as I’ve grown and started to figure myself out, I really was you know I was very shy and timid and Gabriella is the new girl and I feel like we’ve both grown up so much and I’ve gotten to be more comfortable in our own skin, we both fight for what’s right.
Sound Bite: Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale – has being in the spotlight changed things
Hudgens – Yeah of course, I mean I try to avoid reading what other people say, because when I think once you start to read it it gets in your head and then it’s all downhill from there but um you know I like to keep my life private and that’s why kind of tend not to talk about things personal um but you know I still continue to live my life, just as long as we have people that understand what we’re going through, like Ashley and the cast, it makes it all the better.
