Sound Bite: Susan Sarandon – On playing a new role
It was really fun. I think that you can see that we all had a had a good time with the costumes and the evilness and the, you know, everything about it. And changing that way into the hag, and um, I’ve never done anything really like that. I always played the ingénue earlier on, the good girl, so it was really fun to play the bad bad bad girl.
Sound Bite: Susan Sarandon – Liking the evil role
I don’t know. I don’t think I was very bad in that. I was a witch, but a good witch, you know. I mean I’ve played evil mothers. I’ve played, I’m playing kind of a terribly insensitive mother right now, which is also very very fun. It’s always more fun to be bad.
Sound Bite: Susan Sarandon – Wearing the makeup and costume
Five hours, to get in, and a few to get out. So what we did was we had a really long few days, instead of… Because to put it on and take it off was very rough also on your skin, and so they said, well maybe you’d just like to do a few really long days, rather than, you know doing it over and over and over again. So, um, you know, it was really kind of great, except for the teeth were very uncomfortable. They kind of cut the inside of my my lip and it was hard to talk. But um I loved the mask of it, and the… they do stuff to your hands and your chest. And then you don’t even recognize yourself.
Sound Bite: Susan Sarandon – The director and casting
Well he’s very experienced with the with the animation which is which is good, and that always takes a little bit of time. So yeah I mean he cast beautifully I think. He found people that could deal with the style, which was very difficult uh to find because it’s not a naturalistic style and at the same time you have to be real, so. I think that James and Amy were just incredible in that sense.
Sound Bite: Susan Sarandon – Seeing the movie
I haven’t seen it finished. And, you know, I’d kind of like to see it with an audience. I think it’ll be very different with an audience than when I just saw a little tiny screen. It was, the animation wasn’t finished. And, ya know. But I’m looking forward to it.
