| The summer of 1999 was the 30th
anniversary of the original Woodstock Music Festival, perhaps one
of the defining moments of the 1960's pop culture. WOODSTOCK
'99 presented comtemporary artists mixed in with original
Woodstock era performers and like its predecessor, proved to be
a defining moment for its era.
Free food and love beads were replaced by overt commercialism
and a few moments of violence and mayhem. WOODSTOCK'99
will perhaps be long remembered by the few moments of mayhem that
occurred, but they were simply isolated instances in a long glorious
weekend of music.
Extensive footage was shot of all artist, crowd activities, and
performances. JAMES BROWN, SHERYL CROW, DMX, ALANIS MORISSETTE,
THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, KID ROCK, RUSTED ROOT, JEWEL, ELVIS COSTELLO,
THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, MEGADEATH, and METALLICA,
are some of the groups captured on tape.
